Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution 1548 Review

Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution 1548 Carpet CleanerBissell started as a small family-run business in 1876. They’ve been in business for over a century dedicating themselves towards producing various floor-care products. We have tested one of their best carpet cleaners, so we present to you our Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution 1548 review.

This cleaning machine is Bissell’s combined solution for your carpet cleaning needs and pet-related cleaning problems. In our unbiased review, we will put this high-performing carpet cleaner through a lot of stains, and give you our views on its performance, areas of use, pros, cons and more.

Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution 1548 in the Field

Just by looking at the cleaner, you will instantly notice it doesn’t look like any cleaning appliance. Its titanium and red colors combined with its low-profile design for getting under furniture make it look more like the prestigious sports model in carpet cleaners. With the unit’s futuristic design, you also get a light-weight feel from its 18 pounds. You can assemble the unit quickly, but if you find its user manual confusing, you can check the below video.

The carpet cleaner has a solid 6.8-amp power rating, and while other models have a higher amp number, this unit uses what it has – efficiently. You can move around a lot with the unit since it comes with a 25-foot power cord. The tank capacity of this model is 1 gallon or 128 ounces, but it also comes with a Heatwave Technology feature that keeps your tap water warm while you clean.

The wave-like brush system is made of 12 rows of alternating PowerBrushes that rotate to help remove debris or loosen up any ground-in dirt and grime. The cleaning path is a standard 11 inches. However, this unit comes with an attachable 7-foot hose and a 3-inch 2-in-1 Spraying Crevice Tool for those hard to reach places. You can use 2 cleaning modes – express cleaning that should leave your carpets dry in around an hour, or the deep cleaning mode for tougher stains. There is also the Dry mode for vacuuming your pet’s hair or other loose dust.

Warranty Policy

Bissel provides the longest warranty we have seen for this model. They give a 3-year limited warranty on this carpet cleaner. The warranty does not cover fans, filters, bags, belts, or brushes. If something goes wrong, you need to contact the company directly via phone or email. They will tell you where you can take your unit for repairs. You should also know that this warranty only covers what Bissell service centers deem to be a manufacturer’s error.

What Can You Clean With Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution?

We used this model on a variety of surfaces – car interiors, carpets, upholstery, area rugs, stairs, mattresses, and so on. The unit removed most stains on the first try, while some tougher ones did require a second or third pass. Thanks to the accessories, we were able to handle just about any situation for your everyday spills and accidents.

The only shortcoming of this unit is that there is a safety feature that locks the dirty water tank after it is about half full – meaning more emptying/refill trips. Also, if you are using the deep clean feature and more water is being left on the surface that you like, try gently putting a small 5-pound weight on the brush head for added suction.

Pros

  • Versatile cleaning attachments
  • 3 cleaning modes
  • User-friendly design
  • Tank keeps your water warm
  • 3-year warranty
  • Long power cord

Cons

  • A bit heavy even when empty
  • Limited dirty water tank capacity
  • Not a budget-friendly model

Should You Choose The Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution?

This model does come with a bigger price tag than most carpet cleaners, but you also get more performance out of your machine. It is a versatile tool that could meet all your cleaning needs for years to come if you follow the manual correctly.
